I hope each of you had a
wonderful Christmas and New Year Holiday. Its hard to believe that it is already middle of January 2008. Congratulations are in order for all of the Council Directors and their conference committees for a successful 2007 Council Meeting. Dawn and I truly enjoyed and appreciated the hospitality extended by all of you. It never ceases to amaze me how the necessary items we all do at these meetings take on their own personality with each separate council. The January board meeting was held in Tulsa in conjunction with the Open House for the new Corporate office. What a great facility we have!! We enjoyed meeting and greeting a number of you at the Open House and the reception following. The RVPs got the opportunity to jump right in and become staff members for a few days. We helped with files, cleaning, cooking meals for the board meeting, and had great fellowship and had fun while doing so. We worked and played hard for three days. See the website for the January 2008 Board Summary for the actions taken by the board. (Resources/NAIW Publications/Board Summaries), or refer to Connections. Speaking of the Board summary and Connections, I have received e-mail regarding the dues increase. The last time NAIW had a real dues increase was in 1990. The CPI increase we take each year, unfortunately does not keep up with inflation, therefore the need for the increase. Time for regional conference is quickly approaching. A copy of the registration form has been sent out and a copy is attached to this letter. The Insurance Women of Wichita have been working diligently to present you with an excellent program. 1. Council Directors Elect Training will be on Thursday, beginning at 11:00. 2. Conference begins on Friday morning with CWC, and two opportunities for continuing education on Friday afternoon. These are free to you as a member & registered attendee of the conference, but will be open to public for a cost. 3. The Welcome Party on Friday night will be held at the Old Town Melodrama across the street from the Hotel. This is expected to be great fun and an event you do not want to miss. 4. Saturday holds the promise of great speakers, awards and an exciting banquet with awesome entertainment for the evening. To all of the new members, I hope you are planning on attending the conference and I am looking forward to meeting each of you personally. To our other members, Im looking to see you as well!! |
