About Us The Colorado Council of NAIW is an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Women, International. Our focus is to provide members the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally by offering education networking, and development opportunities. Membership is open to men and women from all lines of the insurance and risk management industries. |
NAIW History The Colorado Council is proud of being the home of NAIW’s founding association, The Insurance Women of Denver. In 1938, Elsie B. Mayer and C. Bertha Rachofsky joined nine other Denver insurance women to form an organization for insurance education purposes. The two most challenging aspects facing the IWOD in those first years were soliciting members and convincing employers that the association’s purpose was truly educational and not a cover for union activities. |
